“The waiting place…
…for people just waiting.
Waiting for a train to go or a bus to come, or a plane to go or the mail to come, or the train to go or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow or waiting around for a Yes or No or waiting for their hair to grow. Everyone is just waiting.” – Dr. Seuss
I cracked out my Dr. Seuss book “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” for this one!
This family session was such a special space to be in as it was just days before Kayley had her twin boys! I usually photograph expecting families earlier in a pregnancy when mom feels that “glow” and not so late when they are out of breath and uncomfortable. HOWEVER….I think photographing families in this waiting period is my new favourite and so so special. After baby comes (or in this case babies) everything changes! For the better for sure, but it’s so sweet to capture this anticipation, excitement, nervousness and all the emotions that come with waiting and being right at the end of waiting.
Waiting for her water to break or the phone to ring, or the earth to shake or the pitocin to begin, when the babies get low and the show is a go and everyone waiting just HAS to know! Waiting around for that blissful cry and to see mom sway to that sweet lullaby at the end of the day. We’re all just waiting. – Had to give this Dr. Seuss thing a go 😉
